The University of Texas at Austin’s Philosophy Department is hosting the annual Graduate Conferance on February 28 th and March 1 st 2025 (Friday and Saturday). This year, our keynote speakers will be David Builes (Princeton University) and Mandy Simmons (Carnegie Mellon University).


We invite graduate students to submit philosophy papers in any area of philosophy.
We are seeking high-quality, journal-grade papers for presentation. Papers will undergo a blind grading process. We expect to take no more than 4-5 papers, or ~10% of the number of submissions.


The Graduate Conference will be in-person. If you submit, you are committing to presenting in-person, given that your paper is accepted. Presentations total one hour – 30 minutes lecture, 30 minute Q&A. Submission Deadline: Friday, November 15 th 2024.


All submissions must be 3000 words or fewer. All documents should be submitted as .doc; .docx; or .pdf. Papers must be prepared for blind review.

‘[LASTNAME]_Graduate Conference Submission. Use your paper title as the document’s name (e.g., InterestingPaper.pdf). One submission per author.


In addition, please include a cover letter with:
·        Paper Title
·        Author’s name
·        Author’s institutional affiliation
·        Author’s email
·        Word count (≤ 3000 words)
·        Abstract  (≤ 150 words)
·        Please use CL_[Title] (e.g., CL_InterestingPaper.pdf) as your cover letter title.

*If you are a member of an underrepresented group in philosophy, (e.g: low-income, first-generation
college, Person-of-color, woman, trans, LGBTQIA+, disabled) feel free to include a diversity
statement (~100 words).
