The Journal of the History of Philosophy Summer Seminar 2025 will be led by Prof. Christopher Shields at the University of San Diego on the topic of The Form of the Good in and after Plato. The seminar will take a textually based look at Plato's axiology, his metaphysics of goodness, and will on that basis examine the responses of proponents and critics alike, from Aristotle and the Neoplatonists down to the present day.  Recent PhDs (no later than 2019) and advanced PhD students in philosophy can apply. Costs of travel, housing and food up to $2000 will be covered for up to six candidates. Please visit https://jhp.wisc.edu/summerseminar.html for more information. CVs and letters of interest should be sent to Eileen Sweeney at [email protected].
