Details

The third annual Philadelphia Normative Philosophy Conference will be held at the University of Pennsylvania on October 10th-11th, 2025.

We anticipate 30 talks, ranging widely across all of normative philosophy, very broadly construed. Conference presentations will be 30 minutes, in addition to time for both comments and general discussion.

Philadelphia is a fantastic city for philosophy, with many philosophers at the institutions in the greater Philadelphia region, and it is accessible for many outside of the area. Philadelphia also has stellar and affordable food and tremendous museums and historical sites.

Questions can be addressed to either of the conference organizers:

Craig Agule: [email protected]

Brian Berkey: [email protected]

Submissions in any area of normative philosophy, very broadly construed, are welcome. Please submit an abstract of no more than 500 words, formatted for anonymous review, to [email protected]. Abstracts should be submitted in PDF form, single-spaced, with no references. Please name the file after the title of the paper, e.g., "A Theory of Justice.PDF". Please include your name and institutional affiliation in the body of your email, and please also indicate whether you would be interested in commenting on a paper, should your abstract not be selected.

Abstracts are due April 15th, 2025. Applicants will be notified of decisions by May 15th.
