CFP: Call for Speakers: Minorities and Philosophy (MAP) Duquesne Chapter

About MAP:  

Minorities and Philosophy (MAP) is committed to addressing structural injustices in academic philosophy and removing barriers to participation for members of marginalized groups. Through our international organizing team and graduate student-led network of autonomous chapters worldwide, MAP aims to dismantle mechanisms that exclude students from marginalized backgrounds, promote philosophical work from marginalized perspectives, and improve working conditions for scholars from underrepresented groups. 

MAP @ Duquesne invites philosophers who are PhD students/candidates, postdoctoral scholars, or early-career academics from underrepresented groups in philosophy to present their work. We welcome talks on topics related (but not limited) to race, gender, disability, oppression, bias, post-coloniality, and discrimination. Sessions will take place at the end of Jan, Feb, and March 

Event Details: 

• Format: Hybrid (on-campus or Zoom) 

• Location: Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA, and online 

• Honorarium: $250 for a one-hour presentation and Q&A + if physically present, one hour of community time where we will come together to explore culturally diverse food and socialize!

Please submit your CV and an abstract of your proposed talk using the link below. Abstracts (200-300 words) should clearly outline the topic, main arguments, and significance of your presentation.
