Details

This year marks the 800th anniversary of the great medieval thinker Thomas Aquinas, whose impact continues to influence the development of philosophical thought. In honor of this anniversary, the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences is organizing a conference dedicated to the thinker's contribution to world’s philosophy. The conference will be held on September 24–25, 2025, in Moscow at the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The conference is divided into two sections. The first section will discuss the historical heritage of Aquinas and Thomism. The second section is devoted to the interpretation of his ideas and concepts in contemporary philosophy.

Researchers who study both the historical aspects of Thomas Aquinas and Thomism, as well as those who are inspired by the ideas of this tradition or criticize them in the context of contemporary philosophical discussions, are invited to participate. To participate in the conference, we invite you to send a detailed abstract of your talk (up to 2 thousand characters) in English or Russian to the e-mail of the organizing committee ([email protected]) by June 15, 2025. Selected applicants will have the opportunity to make a 45-minute presentation followed by a discussion (15 min). The participants could present their papers either in person or online.
