Details

We invite graduate students and early-career scholars to submit abstracts for papers discussing philosophical issues at the crossroads between Kant and Williams. Preference will be given to papers on both Kant and Williams and papers that employ a comparative approach. We especially encourage papers on the following topics:

  1. Kant’s ethics and the Morality System; the moral and the ethical
  2. Personal projects, authenticity, alienation, meaning in life
  3. Philosophy; philosophical reflection and pre-theoretical thought
  4. The voluntary, moral luck, and moral responsibility
  5. Internal motivation; emotions in ethics

Abstracts of no longer than 500 words should be submitted in an anonymised PDF file to [email protected] by 12 May. Papers should be suitable for a presentation of 45 minutes. In your email, please include the title of your paper, your institutional affiliation, and whether you would like to attend the Reading Party regardless of whether your paper is selected. Applicants will be notified of the outcome by the end of May.

We especially encourage papers from graduate students in underrepresented groups in philosophy.
