Nomination Deadline: April 28, 2025
AAPT Studies in Pedagogy is a peer-reviewed annual dedicated to publishing original works on teaching and learning in philosophy. More information is here: https://www.pdcnet.org/aaptstudies.
The AAPT Studies in Pedagogy board has recently reorganized the Editor-in-chief position. We are moving to a 3-years on + 3-years consulting model for Co-Editors-in-chief. Year one, learn from the experienced EiC while sharing the work. Years two and three, create a volume each year (i.e., do most of the work). Year four train and work with the new EiC. Years five and six, consult and assist as needed. Each EiC will guide at least one volume that is open call and one volume that is themed, including the special 50thAnniversary of the AAPT themed volume.
The work includes managing workflows and timelines, recruiting guest editors, identifying themes for volumes, soliciting manuscripts, refining review criteria, selecting external reviewers, reviewing content, copy-editing, working with a publisher, and more. This is an unpaid position.
We seek nominations of philosophers with following qualifications
- A PhD in philosophy and experience teaching philosophy
- Excellent administrative skills, especially workflow and timeline management
