The Spanish Society for Analytic Philosophy (SEFA) invite submissions on any aspect of the work of the invited guest for the XXIIIth edition of the SIUCC, Jennifer Hornsby, for presentations at the conference, to be held in Seville on November, 6-8, 2014.

The SIUCC (Seminario Interuniversitario de Ciencia Cognitiva) annual conferences are three-day workshops organized under the auspices of the SEFA (www.sefaweb.es) since the creation of the society in 1994. Invited speakers are asked to present three papers, which can be new material or a revision of former work. The seminar intends to trigger discussion and debate through the presentation of 9-12 contributions related to philosophical topics of the invited speakers work.

Recent SIUCC workshops were: XXII, Donostia-San Sebastian 2012, invited speaker: Jesse Prinz; XXI, Granada 2011, invited speaker: Jaakko Hintikka; XX, Barcelona, 2010, invited speaker: Crispin Wright;  XIX, Zaragoza 2009, invited speaker: Ernest Sosa; XVIII, Madrid 2008, invited speaker: John Perry; XVII, Palma de Mallorca, 2007, invited speaker: Peter Carruthers; Valencia (XVI, 2006, invited speaker: Richard Moran; XV, Madrid 2005, invited speaker: Robert Brandom; XIV, Murcia 2004, invited speaker: John McDowell.

Jennifer Hornsby is a British philosopher with interests in the philosophies of mind, action, language, as well as feminist philosophy. She is currently a professor at the School of Philosophy, Birkbeck, University of London, and President of the Mind Association. She continues to work on questions about speech and free speech, and in philosophy of action, planning to develop her work in the metaphysics of action in a larger project about the occupancy of the “temporal world”.

CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS: The Organizing Committee invites contributions on topics related to Prof. Jennifer Hornsby’s work. Extended drafts (not less than 2000 words) should be sent to the coordinator of the workshop, Jesús Navarro ([email protected]), before June 15, 2014. The organization will try to cover accommodation expenses for authors of accepted papers. Authors of accepted papers will be notified before July 30th, 2014.
