2nd Parma Workshop in Analytic and Scientific Metaphysics

Dates: December 15-16, 2025

Venue: University of Parma (Italy)

All scholars are invited to submit an abstract for presentation at the 2nd Parma Workshop in Analytic and Scientific Metaphysics. The aim of the event is to explore a broad spectrum of issues in contemporary mainstream metaphysics. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

- Issues in analytic metaphysics.

- Metaphysical investigations that interact with the formal and empirical sciences.

- Meta-metaphysics.

- The interplay of analytic and naturalistic methods in metaphysical research.

We welcome abstracts from scholars and researchers at all career stages, working within these themes. Submissions should be original and present novel perspectives or insights. Submissions by members of underrepresented groups are particularly welcome.

- Carl Hoefer (University of Barcelona)

Submission guidelines:

Anonymized abstracts of 600-1000 words (not including references) should be submitted via email to [email protected] by September 15, 2025.  Please include the subject line: "Parma Workshop Abstract – [Your Last Name]", and provide your full name, affiliation, and contact information in the body of the email.

Notification of Decision:

Applicants will be notified of the decision regarding their submissions shortly after the deadline. 

Accepted abstracts will be eligible for presentation at the workshop, fostering meaningful discussions and collaboration among scholars working in the field. Each presentation will be allotted 50’ followed by 30’ for Q&A.
