We are organizing a small two-day workshop on the philosophy of leadership, in Vienna, for late July.
We want to focus on exploring leadership through the lens of analytic philosophy. Anyone with any training can participate, as long as you’re ready to use that lens for two days. No papers will be presented; all materials will be distributed and read in advance.
We plan to have up to eight sessions. If you want us to discuss your work, please send us an abstract for approval.
Dates:
- July 30 and 31, 2025
- June 25, send abstract for quick yes/no
- July 16, send draft for pre-reading (enough for basis of 90-minute philosophical conversation)
- July 19, receive link to all reading materials
Place:
- Webster Vienna Private University, Palais Wenkheim, Praterstrass 23, 1020, Wien. This is immediately adjacent to the first district; many hotels are within a five minute walk.
Sponsors:
- Curtin Centre for Applied Ethics, Curtin University, Perth, Australia
- Webster Vienna Private University, Vienna, Austria
Organizers/Contact Information:
- Jacqueline Boaks, Curriculum Lead, Curtin Centre for Applied Ethics, Faculty of Business and Law, Curtin University

Examples of topics (if we do not get six proposals):
- Republic, book 7, leadership implications of the myth of the cave?
- The Prince, chapter 17, fear over love in both political and corporate settings?
