Details

The Schopenhauer Research Centre is delighted to announce that the Call for Abstracts for participation in the 11th Graduate Conference on Schopenhauer’s philosophy is now open. We welcome contributions on all aspects of the philosophy of Schopenhauer and the Schopenhauer school, as well as their relation to different philosophical traditions – such as, albeit not exclusively, Ancient and Medieval philosophy, Oriental philosophy, German Idealism, Nietzsche, Freud, or Critical Theory. Organized by the Schopenhauer Research Centre (Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz) since 2007, the International Graduate Conference has established itself as the major venue for doctoral students to present their work on Schopenhauer’s philosophy and related topics as part of their PhD project. This year, the conference will be held on the 21st of November, 2025, at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.

Abstracts of 300 to 500 words in German or English, along with a short CV, should be sent to [email protected] by September 15th, 2025. For accepted contributions, travel and accommodation expenses will be covered as far as possible. Alternately, participating via video-calls may too be an option, should international travel be impossible
