Details

We are pleased to announce the PPE for Public Policy Graduate Conference, taking place on November 26th, 2025, at the Department of Political Economy (DPE), King’s College London (KCL). The conference will be held in person.

The conference aims to bring together Ph.D. students working at the intersections of philosophy, politics, and economics (as well as related fields) for the purpose of addressing pressing policy issues, and to provide such students with the opportunity to present their latest research and receive constructive feedback from peers, DPE faculty members, and beyond.

We invite submissions from Ph.D. students in all areas of PPE (broadly construed), with any methodological approach, that aim at contributing to public policy. These include – but are not limited to – studies in the area of political economy, normative and welfare economics, political and legal philosophy, public economics, philosophy of economics, history of political and economic thought, political and economic sociology, and social policy. We particularly welcome presentations that spark cross-disciplinary and cross-methodological discussions.

Presenters will be given 15-20 minutes to present their research, followed by a discussion/Q&A session (5-10 minutes) chaired by one of the faculty members. The conference will feature a keynote lecture (announced in due course).

Interested applicants should send an anonymised abstract of no more than 400 words via the form below by 11.59 pm (GMT) on September 29, 2025. We will notify all successful applicants by mid-October.

Application form: https://forms.office.com/e/ZC0MXYhMVk

Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by Ph.D. students in the organising team, with the help of KCL faculty members where necessary. The foremost criterion in the selection process will be academic rigour of the research, but thematic fit with other papers and diversity of background will also be taken into consideration.

Applicants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and any additional expenses incurred while attending the conference. Free catering will be provided during coffee breaks and lunch, funded generously by the PPE research group at DPE.
