Workshop “Cartesian Feminism and Women Cartesians”
Human Abilities Center, Berlin (Schönhauser Allee 10-11, 10119 Berlin, Germany)
October 11th – 12th, 2025
Organizers: Luce deLire, Pedro Pricladnitzky, Ariane Schneck
This workshop aims at discussing thinkers who have argued (proto-)feministically based on Descartes, as well as women philosophers who have dealt with other aspects of Descartes' philosophy. The objective is to bring their engagement with Descartes - and Cartesianism more broadly defined - up for discussion and in so doing also show new ways of integrating these thinkers and topics into the so-called “canon.”
Hybrid event: In person-participation or online-participation via Zoom possible (please register here: [email protected] by September 26th 2025 and indicate whether you would like to participate in person or via Zoom).
