The Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Catania invites you to participate on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Aula 21 Marzo at Palazzo Pedagaggi (Via Vittorio Emanuele, 49), in the workshop “The Crisis of Liberal Democracy and the New Rise of Populism: Interdisciplinary Perspectives,” organized within the framework of the CRIDEM project.

The day will feature international keynote speakers — Alvaro Bianchi (University of Campinas, Brazil), Encarnación Hidalgo-Tenorio (University of Granada, Spain), Ferdinando Menga (University of Campania “Vanvitelli,” Italy), and Filippo Tronconi (University of Bologna, Italy) — along with numerous discussants from the Department of Political and Social Sciences, engaging in an interdisciplinary debate on the crisis of liberal democracies and the new rise of populism.
