Legal Philosophy Trident Seminar Series 2025-26 – Opening Session
Speaker: Alex Guerrero (Rutgers University)
Title: The Epistemic and Metaphysical Roles of Voting: The Dual-Role Dilemma
Date: 3 October 2025 - 5pm (UK Time)
Format: Online (via Zoom)

We are delighted to announce the opening seminar of this year’s Legal Philosophy Trident Seminar Series, co-organised by Lucas Miotto (University of Surrey) and Ezequiel Monti (Universidad Torcuato di Tella).

Our first session will feature Alex Guerrero (Rutgers University), who will present his working paper “The Epistemic and Metaphysical Roles of Voting: The Dual-Role Dilemma.” In this paper, Guerrero explores the tension voters face between treating voting as an instrumental act and as an expression of true belief.

The Legal Philosophy Trident Seminar Series brings together leading scholars to discuss cutting-edge work in legal philosophy, broadly construed. We warmly invite colleagues, students, and anyone interested in the intersection of law & philosophy to join us for what promises to be a stimulating discussion
