Call for Papers: Responses to Jody Azzouni’s Target Article
The Baltic International Yearbook of Cognition, Logic, and Communication (BIYCLC) invites submissions of commentaries, critical notes, or responses to the target article by Jody Azzouni (Tufts University) entitled "Use and mention with respect to 'know', 'believe', 'evidence', 'justification', 'hypothesis', and so on: A hot mess", recently published in our journal here: https://newprairiepress.org/biyclc/vol16/iss1/1/
We welcome work from the perspective of any subfield of philosophy (in particular, in epistemology, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, or metaphysics), or related fields (like psychology, linguistics, or theory of science), that engage with the arguments in this article. This issue follows the tradition of previous target-article issues published in the journal (e.g., Vol. 12 and Vol. 14). Accepted papers will be published alongside invited commentaries. Invited contributors who have agreed to participate include Ram Neta, Otavio Bueno, and Corey Dethier.
Ideally, submissions should be concise (though there is no strict word limit) and will critically engage with the arguments presented in the target article. All contributions will undergo peer review, so please prepare the manuscript for blind review.
Deadline for submissions: December 31, 2025
Submissions: Manuscripts should be prepared for blind submission and sent as pdf files via email to: The Laboratory for Perceptual Cognitive Systems (University of Latvia) lpcs[AT-symbol]lu.lv and BIYCLC's assistant editor, Daniel Skibra daniel.skibra[AT-symbol]uni-konstanz.de with the subject line "BIYCLC Volume 16 Submission".
