British Analytic Theology Symposium (BATS) 2026

Dates: 21-22 May 2026
Location: Hosted by the University of York (UK). The event will take place in the York Medical Society rooms, in York city centre. ( https://www.yorkmedsoc.org/contact-us )

The British Analytic Theology Symposium (BATS) 2026 organising committee invites abstract submissions for its inaugural symposium. There is no specific theme and submissions are welcome from all religious traditions.

Keynotes:

Prof. Brian Leftow (Rutgers University)

Prof. William Wood (University of Oxford)

Format:

Each paper will be allotted 40 minutes in total—20 minutes for presentation (approximately 2,500 words maximum) followed by 20 minutes for discussion.

Submission Guidelines:

• Please submit an abstract of up to 400 words outlining the main argument and contribution of your paper.
• Include a separate cover page with your name, institutional affiliation (as well as role at the institution), paper title, and contact details.

Deadline for submission: 31st December 2025

Notification of acceptance: 28th February 2026
