This talk examines the interpretation of Karl Marx's concept of alienation by Martin Heidegger in his Essays on Humanism and other works. Heidegger appreciated that Marx deeply analyzed the phenomenon of alienation from a historical perspective, and his insights went beyond traditional history and revealed the historical dimension of existence. He saw Marx as a Hegelian, emphasizing the dialectical process of reason and nature. Heidegger compared Marxs insights to the reductionist tendencies of Anglo-American positivism, highlighting the relevance of Marx's ideas in dealing with the dehumanizing effects of modern technology and metaphysical thinking.
