Details
Prof. Robert Louden will present his paper on Kant on music. He will examine some of the relevant puzzles, such as the implications of remarks made by Kant himself as well as his earliest biographers that he was not genuinely interested in music and had very limited experience with it. Music itself is a product of human culture, but if one does not participate in and learn from this culture, how effectively can one philosophize about it?
