In memory of the fiftieth anniversary of his death, the European Centre for Heidegger Studies is organising an international online conference on the life and thought of Martin Heidegger.

Specifically, this conference seeks to locate Heidegger's thought in the contemporary, aiming to explore how the challenges Heidegger sets out in his lifework can be taken up in the 21st century.

This may including, but is not limited to:

  • AI and LLMs
  • The Covid and post-covid age
  • Climate change and the Climate Crisis
  • The rise of the far-right

As well as more general questions raised by Heideggers thought, such as:

  • Heidegger's "end of philosophy"
  • The meaning of thinking
  • The significance of dwelling (wohnen)

Submissions will be accepted in English, German, French, and Spanish, up until the deadline of 1st January 2026. Submissions should include a title, a short abstract, and short biographical information. Please send submissions to [email protected]
