We are pleased to announce the 25th Annual Pitt-CMU Graduate Student Conference, jointly hosted by the philosophy graduate students from Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh. The conference will be held in person at Carnegie Mellon University on March 28th, 2026.
Our keynote speakers will be Gordon Belot (University of Michigan), Jeremy Avigad (Carnegie Mellon University), and Robert Brandom (University of Pittsburgh).
We welcome submissions from graduate students working in all areas in which our Departments have strengths. These areas are: Causality, Formal Epistemology, Ethics, Category Theory, Philosophy of Science, History of Philosophy (esp. ancient, modern, and analytic), Integrated HPS, Philosophical Logic, Philosophy of Action, Philosophy of AI, Philosophy of Biology, Philosophy of Cognitive and Brain Sciences, Philosophy of Language, Philosophy of Mathematics, Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Physics and Social and Political Philosophy.
We especially encourage submissions from members of groups that remain underrepresented within the discipline. We also welcome submissions from all graduate students affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University.
Submission Guidelines: To be eligible for consideration, submitted papers should be no more than 5000 words (excluding references), suitable for a 30-minute presentation (plus Q&A session). Submissions should be in .doc or .pdf format, and should be prepared for blind review by graduate students from within the Pitt-CMU communities. Submissions should include a 300-word abstract on the first page.
