The Philosophy of Achievement
16-17 April, 2026
University of Guelph
What does it mean to achieve something? Is achievement purely individual, or can it be collective? Does the value of achievement lie in the process, the outcome, or the overcoming of obstacles? We invite submissions for a philosophy conference exploring the nature, value, and ethical dimensions of achievement. Topics mayinclude (but are not limited to): the metaphysics of achievement, achievement and well-being, moral and intellectual achievements, barriers to achievement, achievement in digital spaces, and the role of luck, effort, or privilege that aid in our achievements. We welcome papers from all philosophical traditions.
