Details
In honour of the 50th anniversary of Martin Heidegger´s death, The European Centre for Heidegger Studies (ECHS) is organising an international online conference on Heidegger's work and the field of Existential Therapy, broadly defined, under the title:
“Dasein – Existence – Mortality in Daseinanalysis and Psychotherapy.”
ECHS invites submissions of papers that deal with the theme of death and mortality in Heidegger and its importance for Daseinanalysis and Psychotherapy.
Possible topics include:
- Heidegger´s understanding of death in Being and Time.
- Heidegger’s later thinking of mortality (Sterblichkeit).
- The relationship between Heidegger’s existential phenomenology, grounded in existence, and his later understanding of the human being as mortal.
Papers taking a psychotherapeutic approach and those taking a philosophical approach are both welcome. Due to Medard Boss’ interest in India, approaches from non-western traditions are also welcomed.
Please submit a short abstract, title, and a few lines of biographical information to: [email protected]
Presenters will each be allotted one hour, but presentations should be 30-45 minutes long to enable time for questions and discussion.
A participation fee of 50 Euros or 25 Euros for students is payable, although in special circumstances this fee can waived.
