The Department of Philosophy at Lund University is pleased to invite submissions for a two day workshop on work on how rules or norms figure in epistemology and philosophy of language on the 24th-25th of April. We are accepting submission on all aspects of norms and rule-governance relating to knowledge, language, and judgement, broadly construe. Topics of interest might include (but are not limited to)
- the normativity of meaning, truth, and concept use.
- epistemic norms and the extent and ways in which epistemic interactions are governed by rules/norms.
- problems about rule-following and the establishment/interpretation of epistemic and linguistic norms.
- to what extent judgement is influenced or governed by norms/rules.
- norms and responsibilites of knowledge attributions and claims.
Keynote speakers will be announced shortly.
To submit please send a 500-word abstract no later than February 25th to [email protected]. Abstracts must be anonymised. In the e-mail, please write your full name and affiliation. The word count does not include any references or bibliography.
Invited speakers will be treated to lunches and a conference dinner.
This workshop is organised in collaboration with the Department of Philosophy at King's College London.
