The Center for Philosophy of Religion at the University of Notre Dame, the Rutgers Center for the Philosophy of Religion, and the Princeton Project in Philosophy & Religion are pleased to announce a new joint workshop in philosophy of religion, to be inaugurated in 2026 at the University of Notre Dame. This workshop aims to spotlight and help incubate exciting new work in the philosophy of religion (broadly-construed), as well as to develop and deepen connections among our three centers (3 Centers for Philosophy of Religion = 3CPR). The plan is to rotate 3CPR each year: it will be hosted at Princeton in 2027 and at Rutgers in 2028.
All fellows and associates at these three centers as of fall 2026 are especially encouraged to apply, along with recent associates of the centers, but other scholars are also eligible. Abstracts in any area of philosophy of religion (including its history) are most welcome. There is no specific topical theme for this workshop, and there will be 6-8 abstracts selected for presentation. Travel funding and lodging during the conference will be provided for all selected speakers.
Please submit an anonymized abstract of 750-1000 words by May 15, 2026 to [email protected]. In your email, but not in your abstract itself, please identify yourself as either a current center associate (circa Fall 2026), a recent center associate, or neither of the above. In writing your abstract, please bear in mind that full papers should be suitable for a 30 minute presentation. Please attach your abstract as a pdf file, the name of which should be based upon the title of your abstract. While the dates of the workshop are 9/24-25, participants must be able to arrive in South Bend by 9/23 and depart on or after 9/26.
