Carnap's and Quine's Models of Knowledge: A Critical Reconstruction

By Gila Sher (University of California, San Diego)

In this talk I present a critical reconstruction of Carnap’s and Quine’s models of knowledge. The reconstruction is geared toward identifying similarities and differences between them, as well as evaluating their ideas in relation to contemporary issues in epistemology, the foundation of logic and mathematics, and meta-philosophy.
