The 2026 Thomas Hobbes Festival

For 2026, the Thomas Hobbes of Malmesbury Society is hosting Malmesbury's first International Philosophy Conference on Thomas Hobbes and everyone is welcome to come and listen free of charge, whether for a few minutes or for the entire event.

The weekend consists of talks, including a talk by Cotswold Archaeology on the finds from last year's archaeological dig on the site of Thomas Hobbes family home, walks around Hobbes' home area of Malmesbury and lots more to enjoy for all ages. There is also a Festival Dinner and Performance on Saturday 28th March at Malmesbury Town Hall

The Thomas Hobbes of Malmesbury Society would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Vittorio Bufacchi for organising the Conference, The Old Bell Hotel and the United Reformed Church for their kind donation of venues and Explore Malmesbury for their support.
