The Centre for Advanced Research in European Philosophy (CAREP) will be hosting an international conference on the work of the philosopher and Catholic theologian
Jean-Luc Marion, which will take place from March 27–29, 2015. The aim of the conference is to bring together both senior scholars and promising young ones, who work at the intersection of philosophy and Catholic theology, in order to present and discuss critical overviews of Marion’s rich and diverse thought. Marion himself has generously agreed to participate in this conference and will provide both the keynote
address and close with some reflections on the conference papers. The
best papers will be collected and published as a book that would provide critical survey of the key ideas and themes of Marion’s work: including God and being, Augustine of Hippo, God and Descartes, eros, charity, intentionality, givenness, the saturated phenomenon, otherness, difference and community.

Send a two-page abstract (no more than 500 words) outlining the paper to be presented to Steve Lofts and Antonio Calcagno at [email protected] August 15, 2014.
