The philosophy graduate students of The University of Massachusetts Amherst are accepting submissions for The University of Massachusetts Amherst Philosophy Graduate Conference in Fall 2026. The conference is general topic and open to all current philosophy graduate students, as well as those who are currently applying or have been recently accepted to PhD programs in philosophy. Limited, need-based funding may be available upon request.

The conference will take place, in person, at The University of Massachusetts Amherst from Friday, November 13th to Saturday, November 14th. There will be a dinner on the day of the keynote presentation (keynote speaker TBD), and a reception on the closing evening of the conference. All conference spaces are accessible via stairs, ramps, or elevators.

Those interested in submitting papers should do so via the form at https://forms.gle/13v25D7Wb8ahk9Ra9. If you’re having trouble with the form, you may email your submission to [email protected]. Please submit all materials in pdf format. The requirements for submitted papers are as follows:

• No more than 3,000 words, excluding footnotes and bibliography.

• Include an abstract of no more than 200 words.

• Appropriate for a 20-minute presentation.

• Fully anonymized.

Submissions should also include a cover page, as a separate file, which should consist of:

• The title of your paper.

• The sub-discipline of your paper (e.g. metaphysics), or relevant keywords.

• Your name, contact information, and institutional affiliation (if applicable).

Presentations should expect to follow the following approximate format:

• 20 minutes for the presentation of your paper.

• 10 minutes for your commentator.

• 5 minutes for your response.

• 15 minutes for audience Q&A.

The deadline for submissions is 11:59pm EST on Friday, August 21st. Decisions will be sent by September 30th. Please email any questions to [email protected].
