CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Interdisciplinary Workshop and Thinking Retreat

This event is organized and supported by the British University in Egypt, under the coordination of Professor Mohamed Almisbkawy, in collaboration with the RTAIM Project, based at the Institute of Philosophy of the University of Porto and coordinated by Professor Steven S. Gouveia.

The workshop will bring together participants from different disciplines, professional sectors, and cultural backgrounds to discuss the ethical, philosophical, scientific, political, and social implications of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.


Topics of Interest
Submissions may address, but are not limited to:

• Ethics and governance of artificial intelligence
• Responsible AI and responsible innovation
• Philosophy of mind, cognition, and consciousness
• Machine intelligence and artificial agency
• AI safety, control, and existential risk
• Algorithmic bias, discrimination, and fairness
• AI, democracy, political power, and public policy
• Automation, employment, and the future of work
• AI in medicine, healthcare, and neuroscience
• Education, knowledge production, and scientific research
• Human–AI interaction and social robotics
• Digital identity, autonomy, dignity, and privacy
• Artificial intelligence, creativity, music, and the arts

• Environmental and social sustainability
• Emerging technologies and their impact on society
• Interdisciplinary, comparative, theoretical, empirical, and practice-oriented contributions are particularly welcome.
