CFP: 2027 Philosophy of Social Science Roundtable

We welcome extended abstracts (between 600-1200 words) for papers on any topic in the philosophy of the social sciences, especially those that allow interdisciplinary research connections and that are consequential for practicing social scientists. Papers in all areas of the philosophy of the social sciences are encouraged, including in the philosophy of economics and political science, as well as in underrepresented areas, such as the philosophy of psychology and philosophy of history.  The two-day workshop will allow intensive discussion of the work of its contributors.  Selected papers will be published in a special issue of Philosophy of the Social Sciences.

Please email submissions to [email protected] no later than December 11, 2026. Abstracts should be anonymized and attached to the email as a Microsoft Word document. In the body of the email, please include your full name and affiliation.  We may have a small amount of funding available to partially subsidize travel for graduate students whose papers are accepted and who have no access to institutional funding.  Please indicate in your email if you would like to be considered for such a subsidy.

This year’s Roundtable will include keynote addresses from Seva Gunitsky (Political Science, University of Toronto) and Lauren Ross (Logic and Philosophy of Science, UC Irvine).
