The broad aim of this workshop is to foster dialogue between different philosophical approaches on the topic of parenting and parenthood. While there has been a steady stream of research on parenthood from a philosophical perspective, much of this research tends to be segregated in terms of schools of thought. For example, to what extent can phenomenology contribute to debates on the ethics of parenthood; likewise, to what extent can analytical philosophy contribute to our understanding of what it is like to be a parent. This workshop seeks to establish a ground on which questions of this sort can be explored and explicated in a mutually edifying and constructive fashion.
This workshop is organized by Dylan Trigg (CEU) and funded by FWF PAT4547224.
