Reviving Logical Empiricism
By Hannes Leitgeb (LMU)
Logical Empiricism is widely regarded as a philosophical failure. In my lecture, I will argue that there is an (only slightly updated) “enlightened” Carnapian version of Logical Empiricism that neither excludes metaphysics nor ethics and that may well serve successfully as a metaphilosophy of scientific philosophy today and in the future. In short: maybe it is time to revive Logical Empiricism.
