The book examines the history and contemporary persistence of eugenic thinking, exploring how ideas about human improvement continue to shape practices and institutions through nine chapters: +history, +philosophy, +mind, +transhumanism, +racialization, +dispossession, +ancestry, +disability, and +bioethics.

The symposium will feature commentaries by:

Prof. Rachel Ankeny — Philosophy, WUR
Dr. Geoffrey Hobbis — Knowledge, Technology and Innovation, WUR
Dr. Clemens Driessen — Cultural Geography, WUR
Dr. Hugh Desmond — Philosophy, WUR
