Call for Abstracts: University of Aberdeen Philosophy Postgraduate Conference 2027: Comparative Approaches to Chinese Philosophy

The University of Aberdeen Philosophy Postgraduate Conference invites submission of abstracts for its second annual conference in April 2027. The topic will be on Comparative Approaches to Chinese Philosophy.

The two-dayconference will take place at the University of Aberdeen, Sir Duncan Library, from April 13th-14th, 2026, featuring 8 talks, each divided into a 30-minute presentation and 15 minutes of Q&A, followed by a keynote speaker at the end of each day.

- Lea Cantor(Kings College London) 

- Shuchen Xiang (Xidian University) 

Submission Specifications

We are inviting current postgraduate studentsto submit works for presentation. Submissions are welcome from all areas of philosophy, with priority given to topics related to comparative approaches to Chinese philosophy. Submissions from related topics, including but not limited to comparative virtue ethics, metaphysics in Chinese thought, or comparisons of sceptical traditions are also highly encouraged.

Anonymised abstracts(up to 500 words) suitable for a 30-minutes presentation are to be submittedvia email to [email protected]. Please include the subject line [Submission – LAST NAME].The email body should also include your name, affiliation, career stage, and if you identify as a member of an underrepresented group.
