The rapid development of generative AI raises profound and pressing moral and theoretical questions about humanity, mindedness, agency, technology, responsibility, and governance. The philosophy department of the Université de Lorraine is pleased to host this first workshop in a planned annual series, which marks the announcement of its English-language Masters programme in Applied Philosophy, beginning in 2027. The Philosophy of AI is one of three core themes of the Masters programme, alongside climate and environment, and health. The workshop will take place in English and French.

Speakers: Carina Prunkl (INRIA), Henri Stephanou (Paris 1), Andrew Arana (Université de Lorraine), Baptise Mélès (CNRS)
