Description
Studi di estetica / aesthetic studies invites original research articles for its Miscellanea / Open Section, devoted to current and historically grounded research in aesthetics and philosophy of art.
The journal welcomes contributions that engage critically with the questions, concepts, practices, and histories that shape contemporary aesthetic inquiry. We are particularly interested in work that places different philosophical traditions, historical periods, and disciplinary perspectives into dialogue, and that contributes to ongoing international debates in aesthetics.
The Miscellanea / Open Section is intentionally open in scope. We invite submissions addressing, among other topics, philosophical aesthetics, theories of art and artistic practice, aesthetic experience and judgment, histories of aesthetics, the relationship between aesthetics and other philosophical disciplines, and the intersections between aesthetics and fields such as literature, visual studies, media studies, cultural theory, politics, anthropology, and the history of ideas.
We especially welcome contributions that rethink established categories, bring neglected authors or traditions into conversation with current debates, or open new perspectives on enduring problems in aesthetics and philosophy of art. The journal publishes research that is rigorous in its argument, attentive to historical and conceptual nuance, and accessible to an international community of scholars.
