Details

On 20 November at the Quinton House in Utrecht, as 4TU.Ethics we will organize a policy event in which we explore how we can turn our research into actual policy. Rather than featuring long presentations, the event will focus on discussion and Q&A sessions. If there are specific questions about ethics and policy that you would like addressed during the afternoon, please send them to [email protected]

This event will be the first in a series aimed at exploring both the opportunities and challenges involved in bringing ethical expertise into policy processes.

Confirmed speakers are:

  • Frans Brom, professor in Normativity of scientific policy advice at the University of Utrecht and director at the scientific council for government polics
  • Myrthe Lenseling and Virgil Rerimassie of the Centre for Ethics and Health
  • Michelle Habets of the Rathenau institute
  • Ruth Mampuys of the Netherlands Scientific Council for Government Policy
  • Someone of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, a concrete name will follow
  • Nynke van Uffelen will also join to share her experiences as a member of the 4TU.Ethics who is active in bridging the academia-policy gap.

The programme will run from 13:00 to 17:00, followed by drinks and bites for those who would like to stay and continue the conversation. This event is primarily intended for PhDs and Postdocs, but other people who are interested are welcome to attend.
