The philosophy department at Kansas State University is happy to invite course proposals for the 2027 North American Summer School in Logic, Language, and Information (NASSLLI) to be held June 21-25, 2027 at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas in the beautiful Flint Hills region of Northeastern Kansas.
NASSLLI courses are aimed at an interdisciplinary audience of advanced undergraduates, graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in mathematics, computer science, philosophy, cognitive science, linguistics, and cognate fields. Courses are encouraged to cross boundaries between disciplines. The purpose of NASSLLI--accomplished both through the courses and from its collegial atmosphere and the community-building inherent in an intensive week-long summer school--is to introduce students and scholars in one area to tools, results, and techniques from another.
Courses should aim to be accessible to the intended audience. Courses addressing interdisciplinary topics are particularly encouraged, but courses focusing on single topic areas that would be accessible to students and scholars working in other fields are permissible as well.
For more information about content, it might be helpful to peruse recent iterations of NASSLLI, available here:
• 2025 at UW: https://nasslli25.shane.st/

• 2020 online due to COVID: https://www.brandeis.edu/nasslli2020/
• 2018 at CMU: https://www.cmu.edu/nasslli2018/
Courses typically meet for approximately 90 minutes each day, Monday through Friday; in addition, "bootcamp" tutorials are sometimes offered on the weekend before the main classes begin.
This is a student event (e.g. a graduate conference).
