Association for Social and Political Philosophy (formerly ALSP) 2015 Annual Conference: 25th-26th June University of Amsterdam

Local organisers: Roland Pierik, Enzo Rossi, Stefan Rummens   Keynote speakers: Jean Cohen (Columbia) Cécile Laborde (UCL)

The 2015 annual conference of the Association for Social and Political Philosophy (formerly the Association of Legal and Social Philosophy) will be organized in the Oudemanhuispoort, a National monument, dating from 1602 and situated right in the heart of the historic city centre of Amsterdam.

Theme: Democracy

Papers are welcome in any area of political, social, or legal philosophy and from any philosophical methodological approach, but we particularly welcome those addressing the conference theme. Papers addressing the theme might examine the very idea of democracy, or might engage with particular issues in democratic theory.

Both individual papers and proposals for panels on related topics are welcome.

Please send paper/panel proposals to aspp2015@gmail.com by 31st January 2015. Submissions should consist of a title and 400-500 word abstract (for each paper, in the case of panels). These may be sent in the body of the email, but preferably as an attachment (.doc, .docx, .pdf). Please ensure that they are prepared for blind review (i.e. author’s name and affiliation should appear in your email but not with the abstract).

Any queries can be directed to the conference email address: aspp2015@gmail.com .

The 2015 event will be a joint session of the annual conferences of the ASPP and the Netherlands Journal for Legal Philosophy.
