Details

This paper will examine Blanchot's reading of Levinas with particular attention to the discussion of autrui in The Infinite Conversation. The paper aims to interrogate points of similarity and difference between the two writers and, in doing so, to raise questions about the ethics of active/passive relations of intersubjectivity, as well as difficulties of empathy and human identification with others.
