Details

This issue of “Lo Sguardo” aims to investigate what still remains, and in which forms, of Pasolini’s geographies, thought, and work 40 years after his death.
In an international perspective (we plan contributions in English, German, French, and Italian), and through interdisciplinary collaborations, the issue aims to promote contributions from a philosophical point of view, as well as from literary and movie criticisms, italianistics, and arts, in order to take stock of “Pasolini’s phenomenon” today.

ACCEPTED LANGUAGES: ENGLISH, FRENCH, ITALIAN, GERMAN, SPANISH, PORTUGUESE DEADLINE FOR THE DELIVERY: AUGUST, 20TH 2015

Call for papers

We are inviting proposals for papers addressing Pier Paolo Pasolini through one of the following themes:

1) Resistances: Papers sent to this archaeological, historical and reconstructive section, aim to investigate the “Poetics of Resistance“ of Pasolini nowadays, what is alive and what is dead about his work in our cultural memory (eg., if there was, in cinema or in literature, a "pasolinismo", and what about its inheritance).

2) Dissidences: The aim of the section is to contribute to the identification and understanding of different recent critics about the work and the inheritance of Pasolini, with a focus on his dissidence and on the dissidence that we face towards his legacy.

3) Hybridizations: This section would present works dealing with those interlacements that seem apparently less probable. For example, feasible, and welcome, comparisons between Pasolini’s thought and pop culture (music, art, dance) and performing arts, or with more distant theories (and theoreticians) such as Roland Barthes, Lévi-Strauss, Foucault and the French thinkers.

Proposal ideas that extend beyond these thematic areas will also be considered.

"Lo Sguardo" is a philosophical journal, peer reviewed, full open access, published by Edizioni di Storia e Letteratura. Since 2009, the journal publishes quarterly monothematic issues, with ever- growing visibility and citation index. Bibliographic references must be formatted according to Vancouver style (progressive footnotes, numbered in order of appearance).
