The Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences is the premiere destination for Canada’s scholarly community. Organized by the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences (CFHSS), Congress brings together thousands of scholars, students, practitioners and policy makers in a different city each year to share ideas, discuss today’s complex issues and enrich their research. They gather under the aegis of more than 70 associations representing a rich spectrum of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. From theatre, literature and education to history, sociology and international development, Congress represents a unique showcase of scholarly excellence, creativity, and leadership.

The CSSPE/SCEEA invites submissions of abstracts (maximum 300 words) for papers on any topic in applied ethics including the conference theme. We will also consider proposals for panel discussions of no more than 900 words.

We will accept abstracts until March 9, 2012.

Please send abstracts to:  [email protected]

Submissions may be individually or co-authored (with no more than two authors) for individual papers.  Panel presentations should have no more than 4 presenters.

Student submissions are eligible for consideration for the Student Essay Prize. If you qualify, please provide proof of student status with your abstract (a link to a department webpage of graduate students with your name would suffice).

Note: Non-members may submit abstracts but only members may read.
