NEW DEADLINE: MAY 8th

For the inaugural meeting of SIPHOP, we invite papers that explore the attempts by Husserl, Heidegger, Sartre, Merleau-Ponty and others involved in the development of phenomenology (up to roughly 1945) to engage with Kant and neo-Kantian thought.  Papers that are more topical but that draw directly on this period of phenomenology and its engagement with Kant/Kantianism will also be considered.  Presenters will have 45 minutes to read, followed by 30 minutes of discussion, so completed papers should be about 4500-5000 words (excluding notes).  Please send abstracts of no more than 750 words, prepared for blind review, to Matthew Shockey ([email protected]) by **May 8th.**  William Blattner (Georgetown) is the invited speaker, and there will be slots for 6-8 additional papers. The meeting will be held at the affordable Magnuson Grand Hotel in downtown South Bend, IN, Sept. 15-16, 2012.
