The philosophical community of the most progressive Ukrainian University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" invites you to the XIth International Conference titled "Philosophy: The New Generation". 


Topic: ?HILOSOPHY: BETWEEN SCIENCE AND HUMANITIES

Place: National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” (Hryhoriya Skovorody St, 2, Kiev, Ukraine)


Working languages: Ukrainian, English and Russian


One of the key issues facing XXIst century philosophy is the problem of its self-identification and its proper mode of existence. What is philosophy? A science, an art, or a methodology? How does philosophy interact with sciences, humanities and arts? In what ways does it influence them?


In order to understand how philosophy interacts with science and arts, we are inviting the representatives of the wide range of disciplines to participate in the conference.


Approximate thematic blocs:

  • Science: philosophy of science and engineering, bioethics, psychology, philosophy of mind, IT-technologies, ecology, futurology;
  • Humanities: philosophy in cultural studies, literature, history, religion studies, theology;
  • Social sciences: philosophical theory in sociology, politics, jurisprudence, gender studies;
  • Philosophy: 21-century philosophy, self-identification and philosophy transformation, theory and practice in philosophy, ethics, philosophical anthropology, history of philosophy.

Participants will have an opportunity to:

·         Attend philosophical battles;

·         Participate in round table discussions with famous modern philosophers;

·         Attend exciting lectures by distinguished scientists;

·         Walk around the city and talk openly over a glass of tea :)

·         Publish the papers in a special edition of an academic journal

1. Express your ideas on the role of philosophy in sciences and humanities in a paper of 700 words.
