Further Info

Accommodation
There are a range of  accommodation options in Bath city at a range of prices. However, as Bath is a very popular destination for tourists we strongly recommend that you book your accommodation as soon as possible. Options can be found through the tripadvisor website and for those of you who wish to find an apartment or room in a private house during your stay, there is also www.airbnb.com (sometimes a much cheaper option). Get in touch if you have any problems!

Arrival/Departure
The conference itself will begin in the afternoon of Friday 29th of April (registration from 1pm approx, details to follow) and will run through to the evening of Saturday 30.th The conference dinner will be held in central Bath on Saturday evening and we encourage you to join us! (dinner is available participants and staff only)

Transport to Bath
The nearest airport is Bristol (from Bristol airport  you can take a bus to Bath city centre). Alternatives are midlands airports (eg. Birmingham) and London, from which there are regular transport links. Bath Spa Train Station and Bus Station are both in the centre of the city, right next to each other.

Transport to Campus
Taxis from the centre of Bath to the University are approximately £13 each way and there are also regular buses that run from the central bus station through town and up to the University-- bus no 15 (it takes about 15 minutes outside rush hour, cost is around £2.20 for a single ticket, the dayrider option is cheaper if you intend to travel both ways). We should also inform you that rush hour in Bath tends to be very busy so allow extra time for travel.

Exploring the City
Bath is only city in Europe that has the status of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our recommendations for exploring the city include The Roman Baths and Pump Rooms, The Holburne Museum, The Victoria Art Gallery, The Museum of East Asian Art (the list goes on…) There are plenty of great places to eat and drink but popular restaurants will require reservation.

Location of the Conference (Room numbers will be sent with the programme nearer the date)
