Students and doctoral candidates (pre-doc) of philosophy are hereby encouraged to submit an abstract not exceeding 2000 characters in German or English without indication of the author, which should be suitable for a presentation of approximately 20 minutes in length until May 31th 2012. Please submit your abstract (i) with a translation of the title of the abstract into German and English (ii), a proposal for a section (iii), a short CV (iv) and a bibliographical note of yourself (v) at http://www.sophia-conference.org/. Contributions in every discipline of philosophy (epistemology, ethics, logic, metaphysics, philosophy of religion, etc.) are welcome. As customary in analytical philosophy, possible contributors should make use of understandable language as well as rational argumentation.
ad Biographical Note. A biographical note should be written in third-person and should contain in a running text the following information:
- Prename and surname of the lecturer; degree of the lecturer in brackets
- University or institution of the lecturer
- Education of the lecturer
- Academic activities of the lecturer
Example. Pat Patternman (MA phil.). University of Salzburg. 2008 baccalaureate in philosophy; 2010 master in philosophy; thesis about Carnaps Logical Structure of the World. Publications in logics and ethics.
Important dates. Deadline for submissions: May 31, 2012. Notification of authors until: June 10, 2012.
