Details

The conference provides a forum to discuss current work in all fields of legal philosophy. However this year's special theme is the topic of neurolaw, conceived broadly to include law and neuroscience, law and psychology, law and behavioural genetics and related sub-fields.

Book symposium

This year's book symposium (Saturday afternoon) will be devoted to Professor James Allan’s (University of Queensland) book The Vantage of Law (Ashgate, 2011). Commentators will include:

Professor Denise Meyerson (Macquarie University)
Mr Michael Stokes (University of Tasmania)
Associate Professor Leighton McDonald (ANU)

Early career workshop

The conference will be preceded by a half-day workshop on Friday morning for PhD students and early career researchers (ECRs) in legal philosophy and related areas. The workshop provides an opportunity for participants to gain feedback on their work from peers and faculty mentors, and to network with other researchers in the field.

Registration, Fees & Conference dinner

Attendence at the conference requires registration (this applies equally to attendees and to contributed paper presenters) by purchasing a ticket at http://aslp.eventbrite.com/

Early registration is available at a reduced rate until 5pm on Friday, 15th June 2012. Late registration fees (approximately 50% higher, as indicated) will apply after this date.

Regular tickets are intended for full-time academics or other employed people. Student tickets are intended for full-time students, for the unemployed, or for those in financial need. Proof of eligibility for the Student rate will need to be emailed to Ms Anke Snoek ([email protected]) after registration and payment are complete.

The conference registration fee does not include the cost of the Conference Dinner. If you wish to attend the conference dinner (held on Saturday evening after the Book Symposium, venue to be determined) then please purchase a Conference Dinner ticket from http://aslp.eventbrite.com/

Conference programme

A draft conference programme will be posted on the NEUROLAW.au home page approximately one month before the conference — i.e. in late June 2012.
