Since 2004, the graduate students of the Virginia Tech Philosophy Department have organized and hosted the Virginia Tech Graduate Philosophy Conference. Every year, graduate students from top Masters and PhD programs are invited to Virginia Tech's campus in Blacksburg, Virginia to present their work and receive feedback through the commentaries provided by Virginia Tech's graduate students. The Virginia Tech Graduate Philosophy Conference has been fortunate in bringing top scholars from a variety of areas in philosophy to deliver keynote addresses. In the past, keynotes have included Helen Longino, Simon Blackburn, James F. Woodward, Geoffrey Sayre-McCord and Jesse Prinz. This year the graduate students of Virginia Tech are honored to continue this tradition on November 2-3, 2012 with the Topics in Philosophy of Science conference with keynote speaker, Professor Anjan Chakravartty (Notre Dame) and faculty speaker, Assistant Professor Benjamin Jantzen (Virginia Tech).
This is a student event (e.g. a graduate conference).
