Cognizance is an online journal created to showcase outstanding work in philosophy and promote undergraduate interest in philosophical topics. We are seeking submissions for our inaugural issue, to be released on September 2012. Please find the list of requirements and important dates below. Send all questions to [email protected].

Requirements:

1.      Topic

  • Papers must be written on a philosophical topic.
  • Papers from all areas of philosophy are welcome, but topics that fall under the subject of“Everyday Ethics: Applying Philosophical Arguments to Modern Moral Dilemmas” are encouraged.

2.      Word Limit

  • Papers must be no more than 3000 words in length.
  • The ideal submission length is 1000-2000 words.

3.      Format

  • Only Chicago and MLA formats are acceptable.
  • A complete bibliography is required.

4.      Cover Page

  • Attach (as a separate pdf) a cover page that includes your full name and an ID number. Include the ID number on the body of your submission.
  • Submissions will be reviewed blind. Please do not include your name anywhere on the body of the paper.

 Important Dates:

  • July 1st, 2012: Paper submissions due.
  • August 30th, 2012: Final acceptance notifications sent out.

We request that you attach both .docx and .pdf versions of your submission in the email.
